Currently, operations can run forever and don't provide any indication of what's going on. We should have a timeout for connections and stats operations for things done by mtop specifically.

Add a 5 second timeout to any network operations done by the `mtop` binary
such as establishing connections or reading statistics from the server.

Fixes #89
