Fast Travel is meant to save player time and let him quicker joining the fight.
This is what i think:

  • Fast travel only from a road (would prevent people to go towards the sea just to teleport back to base.

In addition:

  • "Join the defense!" During defense player should be able, especially singleplayer, to join the friendly garrison to fight the enemy back. This particular form of fastravel
  • "Join the fight!" especially for multiplayer, if there are players within 500m of a town that has a certain amount of FIA support (maybe >10% regardless the ownership) a player can be instantly teleported into the town, his gear stored in arsenal and he get pistol, a backpack and civi clothes. This allow to get you picked up by your friends or start a little insurgence against town patrols.

Perfection:

  • "NATO support", let the player to take control of NATO assets to gain advantage in the fight: this would giustify player usage of Aircraft or tanks.

Join the defense - then it will be fair, if the player will get into a bot from the garrison and then be able to leave him somehow, leaving him in the garrison
Fast travel only from a road - controversial decision
the original implied that the player, having reached a safe area, managed to get to the headquarters or camp from him - along the paths, through the thicket of the forest, not necessarily along the roads

you can generally refuse to teleport the player with his weapons and equipment, instead the player either gets into the civilian in the city (with the pistol in the backpack) or gets into the bot from the garrisons or patrols (with the bot's weapons), or settles in free HR at the headquarters or camp (-1HR), and his HR stays on place and gets to the headquarters a certain time (+1HR), depending on the distance

Teleporting in nearest town with civi geras is actually the perfect idea to justify my old pistol only event (where you had to start in town with pistol undercover in the clothes and start scavenging from there)

there is an idea that with such teleportation, your bot, its weapons, the technique in which it rides, equipment in this technique, after a while, depending on the distance, is sent to the arsenal and garage

Fast travel only from road = doesn't make sens, there is road everywhere in altis (why make the player loose time for free?) and i don't see what is the big issue for people tp from sea to base (as swimming is just a pain in the ass in arma) if there is a load issue when spamming it just add a timer like 10min.

Join the defense/attack : Pretty cool idea ! this will also force some scavenging which is always needed in public server !
