Comment Remover for C Programs

This utility is a Node.js script designed to remove comments from C program files. It handles single-line comments (// ...) and multi-line comments (/* ... */).

Status

The program is currently working and has been tested with several C files with various comment configurations.

JavaScript Execution Instructions

Install Node.js first, then follow these steps to run:

  1. Save the test C program file in the same directory as the removeComment.js script, or modify the right path to the C program file.
  2. Open a terminal, navigate to the directory containing the removeComment.js script.
  3. Run the script using the following command:
node removeComment.js

PHP Execution Instructions

To run the PHP version of the program using WAMP Server and accessing it via the browser:

  • Save the test C program file in the same directory as the remove_comments.php script, or modify the path to the C program file within the script.
  • Ensure WAMP Server is installed and running on your system, and PHP is configured correctly.
  • Place the remove_comments.php script in the www directory or any subdirectory accessible by your WAMP Server setup.
  • Open a web browser and navigate to the URL corresponding to the remove_comments.php script. For example, if the script is in the www directory, you can access it using a URL like http://localhost/remove_comments.php.
  • The script will execute, removing comments from the specified C program file and displaying any output or error messages directly in the browser.
