A small project that showcases how to use MongoDB with Rust.
Note :- guys, this is the follow-along code for my youtube video and it'll be part of the 50 Rust Project Playlist series. Make sure you watch all the videos in that playlist that come before this video for better understanding.
Now I understand that many of you may not have MongoDB installed, so I've included a makefile that'll take care of starting MongoDB on Docker for you. So you'll be able to follow along with this video without any configuration. But for future, if you want to follow along in my series, ensure that you have it installed and know how to work with it.
make mongostart
make dev
Runs a local mongodb instance using Docker and an HTTP server on http://localhost:8080.
You can then use CRUD operations on the book resource like this:
Fetch all books:
curl http://localhost:8080/book
Create a new book:
curl -X POST http://localhost:8080/book -d '{"name": "The Lean Startup", "author": "Eric Ries", "num_pages": 480, "tags": ["non-fiction", "startup"]}' -H "content-type: application/json"
Edit a book:
curl -X PUT http://localhost:8080/book/5f15fd5400b98edc001944c0 -d '{"name": "The Lean Way", "author": "Eric Ries", "num_pages": 650, "tags": ["non-fiction", "business"]}' -H "content-type: application/json"
Delete a new book:
curl -X DELETE http://localhost:8080/book/5f15fd3900789205001944bf
