Support Markdown w/ Preview #12
Comments
I'd like to suggest that this be split into two issues, one to add markdown the other to add Write/Preview tab, which would be useful with or without markdown. |
Good point. I didn't want to clutter the UI with an option to switch between plain text and markdown, and since plain text can be written in markdown I was planning to switch entirely to a markdown editor. I assumed most libraries offering this would also offer a preview so I conflated the two in my head. |
Got it.

The Github editor works well, but I wonder if the submit button should first take the author from the write tab to the preview tab and they can submit from there so they always see a preview, or is this two-step publishing a pain? |
Since GitHub allows you to re-edit it's probably ok, although it gets published (emailed) so a two step would still be worth it. My opinion is the user should have a global setting so they can choose confirmation or not, which is what Google provides when sending email. |
Markdown should be supported to enable authors to have more control of how their work is structured and presented.
A preview option is also necessary to allow authors to ensure everything is rendering correctly before submission, this is even more important as editing is not yet supported (#3).
