Note

While the app serves as a robust frontend experience, backend integrations and the magic of user authentication are in the pipeline. As a result, certain functionalities are, as of now, frontend-centric.

Getting Started with Expo

To run the app using Expo:

Firstly, ensure you have Expo CLI installed.

  1. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/Alexandra-Haynes/social-media-mobile.git
  2. Navigate into the project directory: cd social-media-mobile
  3. Install the necessary dependencies: npm install
  4. Start the app: npx expo start
  5. Once the Expo server starts, a QR code will be displayed in your terminal.
  6. Install the Expo Go app on your Android or iOS device.
  7. Scan the QR code from the terminal using the Expo Go app. This will launch your app on your device.

Note: Ensure your development machine and mobile device are on the same Wi-Fi network to enable seamless communication.
