With this update, you can easily share your custom dungeons with other players via the new online server feature. Upload your creations and play dungeons created by fellow players without leaving the game. However, note that currently, deletion of dungeon files on the server can only be done with the same device used for uploading.
To make space for this feature in the main menu, the badges screen was removed (and putting an end to flexing with badges).
Additionally, the custom tiles directory was renamed to "files" for clarity because all external files are now stored there, and all these files are now also included in the ".dun" files.

v1.0 - Simplified Dungeon Sharing and Zones for Customization

This update mainly aims to increase overall stability. Many of you had problems sharing dungeons, so I improved this quite a bit. First, you can now export your dungeons as a single file (.dun) so you no longer have to share zip files. Anyone can then place the .dun file in the custom-dungeons folder so it will be converted to the actual dungeon. Or on Android, you can also use the import feature to import/export it directly without accessing the folder yourself (but the permission required also allows the app to see and even delete all your photos; so I will try to find a better solution for this in the next update).
Another big feature is the addition of zones, which enables you to define certain useful properties for a specific area (their colors are only visible while editing).

v0.9 is a small follow-up update aimed at fixing the issues from the last version and incorporating new features requested by the community.


Features

  • Added MerchantsBeacon, LloydsBeacon, Dewdrop and permanent gasses (toxic, corrusion, confusion, paralytic, stench)
  • Mobs can be neutral: they don't attack, and don't have a boss bar
  • Mobs can now drop multiple items at once as custom loot
  • Sacrificial fire reward can be set
  • Terrain of custom tiles can be changed in the inventory
  • Option for keys to only work at a specific cell
  • Hero start items are now all provided through the dungeon start item logic
  • Hero subclasses can be disabled
  • Option to enable 2D view (like vanilla) for your dungeon
  • Purchase price of items can be set more precisely

  • Fixed the crash that occurred when selecting the mob category with the wraith icon

v0.8 - More Customization and Custom Tiles

This is the biggest update so far! I've made it easier to find global settings by splitting the General Settings tab into Dungeon Settings and Level Settings, and it now has more user-friendly look with more icons. On top of that, many new features mostly suggested by the community were added. For instance, now you can simply click on a number spinner to manually enter any value, even if it's outside the normal limits.


Here are the other most important features:

-Updated to Shatterd PD v2.2.1 so the new blacksmith quest is now available

  • Added normal bomb, red sentry, and all four remaining bosses

  • Added permanent blobs (sacrifical and eternal fire), found in Tiles > Other

  • Added custom tiles (guide on how to use your own ones: here

  • Added wandmaker's ritual quest back

  • Added well water, including transmutation water

  • Durations of buffs applied by potions and scrolls can be changed

  • Levels can be negative

  • Wands charges can be changed

  • Artifact levels can be changed

  • Option for keys to work on any level

  • Xp and loot for defeating mobs can be modified

  • Mobs where stats couldn't be edited now use scale option so you can scale all the stats

  • Bossbar can be assigned to one enemy per level

  • Destination cell of gateway traps can be set

  • Hero classes can be disabled and starting items can be set

  • Health region and hunger depletion can be turned off

  • Creating new levels now changes chasm and unassigned exits of the last created level accordingly

  • Added fill button: places the selected item on all cells with the same terrain or trap

  • Toolbar now always saves with the dungeon, long press the backpack to clear it

  • Cheat panel for level testing remembers last settings

  • Hold Shift to automatically select the remover

  • Hold Ctrl to scroll through the toolbar using the mousewheel

v0.7 - Many Player-Requested Features and File Saving Changes

This update is mostly based on player feedback, so thanks to everyone who provided suggestions or bug reports!

Unfortunately I had to make some changes to the file names dungeons and levels are saved: All spaces( ) in the custom dungeon folders and the level files are replaced by underscores(_), and you have to manually replace every space with an underscore.

on Dektop: C:/Users/You/Sandbox-Pixel-Dungeon/custom_dungeons
If you have two dungeons like "My Dungeon" and "My_Dungeon", then just move one to a different location and rename the other in-game (using the new renamig feature). If the same happens for two custom levels in the same dungeon, then you can safely rename the one with the correct name in-game and rename the other level file later.

More changes:

  • Dungeons and Levels can now be renamed by performing a long click in the dungeon/level selection
  • Added button to play directly from the editor in a test run with the options to use cheats like taking no damage, but these test runs are not saved
  • Mob Stats Editor: Change HP, dmg, armor, evasion, accuracy and movement speed for individual mobs
  • Object Picker: use middle-click to select the focused object into the toolbar; or use the button on the left on mobile
  • Items can now be selected to already be identified
  • Quest NPCs in Default Dungeons are now added via distribution
  • Added button on desktop to open the custom dungeon folder in your file explorer

I have also corrected file locations on desktop, so please manually move "C:/Users/You/Sandbox-Pixel-Dungeon/custom_dungeons" into "C:\Users\You\AppData\Roaming.alphadraxonis\Sandbox Pixel Dungeon". And for games in progress: In the same directory as your jar file, there should be folders game1 to 5. Inside each is a folder "dungeon_levels" in which a folder "levels" is located. Move this folder called "levels" into C:\Users\you\AppData\Roaming.alphadraxonis\Sandbox Pixel Dungeon\game1 (repeat this for all 5 slots, and place it inside the correct slot folder)

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed wrong water graphics after changing map size
  • Boss levels can now lead directly to the surface
  • Corrected spawning of special rooms
  • Adding blacksmith room to spawn did not also add a blacksmith to spawn
  • Editor inventory did not work for UI-sizes other than 'Mobile'
  • Fixed crash when deleting a level
  • Fixed incorrect use of 'customLevel' instead of 'floor' in many text occurrences

v0.6 - Adjustable Level Sizes and Improved In-Game Sign Interaction

v0.6 allows you to change the size of each level (found inside the general level settings), as well as the ability to write on signs and read it in game and the option to enable auto saving for the editor (this can be disabled in the settings).

More changes:

  • updated to SPD 2.1.4
  • Reworked title scene to use different colors, to show the correct name and to include a Discord link
  • Items and mobs can now be randomly spread across multiple floors, just like SoU or PoS do.
  • Quest rewards can be customized
  • Buffs can now only be applied to chars that can actually receive that buff
  • Challenges that affect level generation can now be controlled better
  • Disabled daily runs - they don't make sense here
  • Added hidden doors and plants to the inventory
  • Camera now focuses the level center after loading

v0.5 - More Customization and Improved Quest System

With this big update, you can now configure the items, mobs, or rooms that spawn on a specific floor. Additionally, quests can now be set (found in the quest giver edit window).
Unfortunately, I have also lost the Android signing key, which means I can no longer update the original APK. Instead, you need to backup your custom dungeons and uninstall the previous app to install the new version. Games in progress will be lost. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, and I promise it will never happen again.

Here are some more changes:

  • Updated to ShatteredPD v2.1.3 (Blacksmith remains the old one)
  • The level for keys can now be set

Bug fixes (And please don't hesitate to contact me via email or Discord if you encounter any more bugs):

  • Pressing "New Game" after death did not reset the dungeon
  • Mimics now work again

v0.4 - Undo/Redo Feature!

This update introduces a very useful feature: you can now undo or redo the 50 most recent changes to the map using the buttons in the top left corner.

Other stuff:

  • Changed location of the files for desktop: now the files are inside a directory called Sandbox-Pixel-Dungeon instead of in the user directory directly. If you have already used the desktop version, you need to move the files manually.
  • A warning will appear in the game log when walking to entrance/exit cells that don't have a transition
  • Increased width of some windows
  • Many bug fixes

v0.3 - Desktop Support + Many Improvements!

The desktop version is now officially supported, which means that keys can now be used to navigate.
This update also includes:

  • German translation
  • Hold and drag to place things on multiple cells on one go
  • Inventory in Editor now has more categories for items -> better performance
  • Vibration sound for deviced which cannot vibrate (you can disable this in the settings or send me a better sound file)
  • Many backend improvements for cleaner code
  • Many bug fixes
  • You can now load dungeons from v0.1 again

Note that the source code in this release is not up to date for some reason.
