This is a minor update to the .dtx file to provide compatibility with MacTex-2022.

It also includes changes that were not previously released, including:

  • updates to the .dtx file for compatibility with the lineno package (fixes #48).
  • fixed links to example files (fixes #46)

Despite this update, users are reminded that accessibility is not actively maintained and should be considered experimental. Functionality is not guaranteed.

FIxes problems in documentation caused by switch to UTF-8 encoding.

As always, users are recommended to install accessibility from CTAN.org.

CTAN resubmission Pre-release
Pre-release

This release includes all files submitted to CTAN on 15 October 2019 as version 2.0.2 of the accessibility style.

It passes my tests, but these do not necessarily mean that any documents that are produced can be considered accessible.

Anyone wanting to use accessibility for their .tex documents is strongly recommended to download it through CTAN.

All problems should be reported as issues via https://github.com/AndyClifton/accessibility/issues. I welcome all offers of assistance!

Compiled `accessibility` package

Pre-release

Possibly functional -- but not properly tested -- version of the accessibility package.

Where's version 1.0?

17 June 2019: I cannot get the access.tex that I have, to compile with to give the same accessibility.tex file that Babbet supplied. This is not that surprising, as LaTeX code has probably changed in the 12 years since that was written. So, I have to assume that the code is not backward compatible (hence version 2). And I keep on doing bug fixes but not adding functionality, hence version 2.0.1.

Update 19 Sept 2019
The release has been (rightly) rejected by CTAN for not following their conventions. I have added a bunch of issues to the project board associated with a milestone for "first release to CTAN".

Original Release Pre-release

This is the LaTeX accessibility package. It creates tagged and structured PDF files that can be used to improve PDF document access. For more information see e.g. https://taggedpdf.com/what-is-a-tagged-pdf/.

Babett Schalitz wrote the first accessibility.sty package in 2007. At the time, accessibility.sty was oriented towards KOMA-script documents and was only documented in German. This release is the 2007 version of the package, created directly from files supplied by Babett Schalitz to me (Andy Clifton) in an email on May 8 2017. I have not made any modifications to those files.

The package was submitted to CTAN in 2013 but was rejected for various reasons.

Until this release, the only available version of accessibility.sty was at http://www.babs.gmxhome.de/download/da_pdftex/accessibility.sty. That version was incomplete.
