Nice.....
Did you get VOIP working on the ODI DFP-34X-2C2 (XPON)...?

@Shaan-hbli I didn't try it as I don't need that. But I think its doable as ODI support vlan which is main thing for VOIP as AIRTEL uses Vlan ID 660.

This whole endeavour is expensive, getting gpon sfp, sfp+ card and then a dedicated PC to run it.

btw i added the module to a mikrotik hex s, the vlan mentioned in your config doesnt set vlan 100, i checked in the module it seems airtel is using vlan 2271 here but in airtel stock router its set to 100, no idea how to map it to 2271 to 100. i got pppoe with ipv4 and ipv6 working, next step is to make voip work, any clue on that. The modules does get extremely hot though

Also, I couldn't find anything related to HW_HWVER in 707GR1.

Not sure, airtel uses 100 at every cpe that I have looked at. 2271 is super odd, maybe its due to location? Which city you live in?

You can find mac address written on gpon itself. If thats not an option, call airtel and tell them that your cpe is unstable, they will replace it.

@aki263 Can you please confirm the values for flash get OMCI_OLT_MODE and the firmware version per your configurations?
I ask this because the values OMCI_SW_VER1 and OMCI_SW_VER2 won't stick for me when OMCI_OLT_MODE is 0. Every time they revert to the firmware defaults as discussed here #30

where did you find this module in India ? I have TataPlay fiber and recently managed to get a Nokia G-010S-A which gets O5 but I lose connectivity because of some weird OMCI stuff. This one might work with fake omci which is not present in the Nokia module. But I am unable to find this for a reasonable price anywhere. Shipping from outside India costs more than the module itself.

the one printed on back of router is fine or if you dont clone still it should work, i decrypted the nokia router config and got the mac id for pppoe connection from that and cloned that

in the nokia router it shows vlan 100 only but the gpon module gets 2271 on which pppoe and ipv6 works, i guess the nokia router does some vlan mapping

Can this SFP work with sophos firewall ?

The aim of this complete testing was to increase the speed of the internet connection at our home. without paying more. ?right
You spoke about the authentication part. what about the speed airtel assigning the speed based on account as per me not as per the end device hardware capabilities. correct me if m wrong

I don't think Sophos Firewall support HiSGMII, most of their equipment are 1/10G only, no 2.5G and 5G which very stupid and dumb.

even they support 2.5G, only NBase-T and not HiSGMII or 2500Base-X

which is make Sophos Firewall very stupid.

if you have 1Gbps 2Gbps internet plan, don't use Sophos Firewall, Fortinet, Aruba or similar as they don't support GPON 2.5Gb

plus with firewall and IDS/IPS will slow your internet as 200MB/s of data need to process which overkill the Router CPU.

I ranting here because people keep messaging me their Fortinet can't connect with any GPON ONU SFP.

for me, Equipment don't support HiSGMII or 2500Base-X is stupid, please don't buy it and boycott it, this will force manufacturers to support HiSGMII and 2500Base-X!

Airtel also provides VOIP on VLAN 660 and they show up as follows:

However, I have not been successful in having traffic pass through VLAN 660. It seems there is some filter on the ISP side which is blocking access.

@aki263, Do we have any module (TP-Link-MC110CS-100Mbps-Single-Mode-Converter) which can be connected directly to Fiber cable and then to TP Link router ? Will the SFP media converters work ? Going through the post, pls link if these details are available in post.

What are you trying to achieve by removing the ISP optics?
Forget single multi mode fiber, look up PON, you need something like https://amzn.eu/d/eJ8pO2d or your ISP supplied xPON router.

Issue is none of these routers have enough oomph to SQM at Gigabit speeds, you can test your fancy fiber connections bufferbloat at https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat.

Can you SSH / telnet in to it?
Do you have root?
Does the web interface allow you to run terminal commands?

Disabling TR-069 can usually be as simple as killing the tr69 daemon running on the router, see https://github.com/Strykar/H680GM-A
