Problem you may be having, or feature you want

First of all, I want you to know how much I appreciate your simple, functional and wonderful app! I use it a lot to play local audio files, because it respond to buttons from my bluetooth headphone (forward backward, etc.) correctly whereas I could not find other music players that does this.

I have a lot of audiobook in the format of m4b, which is basically like mp4 format. The AntennaPod can play the files just fine. But each file come with a cue sheet:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_sheet_(computing)
That specifies the chapters in a file ending in .cue, which makes it much easier to navigate. It is of an extremely simple format, basically each entry has three lines, a track number, a title and a place in hour:minute:second format specifying where the starting time of the chapter.

It would be of tremendous help if AntennaPod could support reading the cue sheet and displaying the chapter info in the interface when playing it, and jumping between different chapters by pressing an entry in an list of chapter.

Thank you indeed for considering this!

Suggested solution

Adding support to navigate chapters in a long local m4b (or mp3) file by reading a corresponding local .cue file.

Hmm, that's not a podcast functionality. Remember that AntennaPod is aimed only at podcasts - using it with audiobooks is not really intended. I suggest looking for an audiobook app like Voice (it does not support cue files either, though). If you add the chapters directly to the mp3 file (using for example mp3chaps), AntennaPod will detect them. mp4/m4b chapters are not supported in AntennaPod yet.

Thank you for mentioning the Voice! It actually works very well for my purpose! It can rewind and go forward correctly with the bluetooth headphone buttons, and it even shows the chapters correctly, when I put my cue file in the directory with m4b file! Thank you for this pointer! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to support Android Auto. But that's OK, I can just use aimp for that. Thanks again for solving my problems!
