Plotting is not the only place where this is perhaps causing undesired results I am sure. Especially important for processing PROVOR floats.

Yeah this is an issue for gain calculations as well I believe. There's something else within the surface timeseries. Biasing the gains high, have multiple plots like this.

I think its because there are descending profiles - need to remove those
