Several people have expressed their interest in more information regarding the issues with WASI, its subgroup, the Component Model, the W3C and the Bytecode Alliance. This PR summarizes the technical and organizational arguments as well as their relevant context. Note that we are aware that this isn't necessarily pleasant respectively that it will likely lead to more retaliation against AssemblyScript. Realistically, given the already dire situation, it will likely not make much of a tangible difference anymore, so we hope that our years of experience as one of the few independent members of the WebAssembly CG can be useful to the broader community to eventually make WebAssembly what it claims to be.
