'Closed' issue is still not fixed re 'Scrolling down does not bring more items.' #462
Comments
For me it seems to load about 7 initially. Scrolling down doesn't load up any more. I have to click on the category to load another seven. |
Do you mind giving more details, as I can't reproduce. |
Nothing too esoteric, and I'm not the only one impacted by the issue: This occurs no matter the browser or OS I'm using, I don't don't do much browsing in Category, so I see it browsing Feed in expanded view. In 'General' settings,'In expanded view, scrolling through entries mark them as read' is the only thing checked. The problem seems to be less severe following the recent rebuild/database engine change, but the problem lives on. |
Win 7, ie 10, expanded view, both feed and category. |
Is the activity spinner spinning or does it behave like there's nothing left to load? |
The activity spinner doesn't show. Behaves like there is nothing left to load. |
I confirm RadAd's observation of spinner activity (or lack thereof). |
How do you scroll? Mousewheel? keyboard shortcut? |
Confirmed. 'j' shortcut and mousewheel are what I use. Neither load additional items from feed as I scroll. |
I use the mouse/scroll wheel. |
I don't know if this is would be helpful, but sometimes when I reach what seems to be the end of the items, after a moment more items will load. It's enough of a pause to make me think that I need to click on the feed name to load the remaining items. Maybe something is happening in that pause - sometimes it will load, sometimes it won't. |
I use the mouse scroll wheel. I also see it intermittently work also. |
It does work sometimes. Just not consistently. And when it does work it doesn't always make to the end. |
I'm having the same problem. Looking at the network traffic, when I click on a feed there's this request: The problem is the second request returns: "hasMore":false,"entries":[] |
Ah thanks that's helpful. I think I understand why it doesn't work. Stay tuned. |
…ad of the size of the list of items (#462)
I think that should do it. |
Didn't fix it. It worked the very first time it loaded additional articles and then didn't again. |
I confirm, I still have the bug too. It seems to happen less often, but it is still around here. |
I just scrolled through a feed with over 200 items, so it seems to be a lot better. It didn't however make it to the end. After refreshing there were three items left. I tried it another feed with over 100 items. Again it didn't make it to the end, this time there was only one item left. |
Ok I'll look into it |
For me the issue seems to be resolved, |
That's actually not a bug but a feature and what google reader was doing. New entries are not loaded automatically because they would be added at the top of the list and you'd miss them anyway. |
Any movement on this issue? It's better, but still not resolved. |
yeah I'm working on it
|
The latest changes have made this issue worse for me. Before it would just stop scrolling and a refresh would get new entries, but since I've updated, sometimes when I'm scrolling down through a lot of entries, it sometimes "resets", where the older entries are removed, new entries (including newer items since I first loaded commafeed) are loaded and the page is scrolled down some entries. The effect is very disorienting and when it happens I have to scroll back up to see the missed new items, and sometimes I miss items because the have been marked as read and removed. This only happens with the "Unread" entries, using "All" works beautifully every time. I am using the expanded view, haven't tried it with titles only. Until a permanent fix, could we get an option to disable automatic refreshing? |
What about now? |
still the same for me |
the latest updates seem to have fixed the issue for me (so far!) edit: its not resetting to the top any more, but new items (that are newer than when I started reading are just added to the bottom when I scroll) |
This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions. |
I'm afraid this is not fixed - at least for me.
Although more items can be read at a time, I still have to click on the feed name to read them all.
