This patch includes a few comment fixes and expands ls to allow for date intervals. It also includes ical generation functionality of a basic nature. It should also hopefully catch all instances where unicode could be returned without being properly formatted.

Besides ical generation and hopefully full unicode support, ls have been extended to allow a start and stop date (full ISO date needed, including timezone - haven't attempted to do any guesswork here).
This has been hugely helpful to me, so I hope it can be incorporated in the official project.
