The recent change from token to symbol helped make initialization more consistent, although it is not the most user friendly.

We should look into a longer term solution where the user is prompted to setup the default currency whenever they fund their first bounty.

Related ticket #801

Capture a separate issue for the necessary front-end changes after this is taken care of.
