What

Enable Markdown Preview in the IOS App as it exists in the MacOS App
Screenshot 2023-09-16 at 20 55 03

Why

Because writing notes in markdown is much less appealing if I cannot see these notes rendered (I can only see the notes with the markdown code) from my smartphone.

Hey @juanmaguitar!

Thank you for the suggestion! Even though it's not overly intuitive, the iOS variant of Simplenote does have a markdown preview, available through left swipe (a note has to have MD enabled, though):

Please let us know if this helps, or you'd still like to have it accessible via button. Thank you!

HI @pachlava!
Thanks for the reply. That definitely helps.

From my user's perspective, the behavior that I would expect/like would be:

Switch between "Markdown (editable) content" and "Rendered content" mode for ALL the notes

(1) From every note I click on the three dots button
(2) Switching the markdown button will switch between "Markdown (editable) content" and "Rendered content" mode for ALL the notes
  • Markdown (editable) content → In this mode all notes are editable with markdown syntax
  • Rendered content → In this mode notes are not editable and are displayed with the rendered HTML generated from the markdown

PS: TBH I don't know what's the current purpose of the current Markdown switch in the App. It doesn't change anything in my notes

Wow, that is very unintuitive; glad I eventually found this post I just thought you hadnt added preview. I would suggest an icon like the other apps to make it clear.

Thanks for a great app.
