Open to a pull request adding Zone management to the Customizer? I started a new Zoninator under this premise, but decided I don't really want to maintain it.

I like this idea. @brettshumaker How feasible do you think this is?

Would working on #42 make this easier / more future friendly?

@sboisvert - I think it's definitely feasible. In thinking about the UI, I guess we would need to add a new customizer panel for Zoneswith a text link to create a new zone, a select box to choose a zone to edit, then mimic the UI from the zones page for adding/ordering/removing of posts.

Is there any reason #43 wasn't discussed as much as #42? It looks to me like the naming conventions used there are more in line with what I've seen for REST API features.

I don't know re: #43 or #42 Do you want to follow up with @pgk on 43 and 42 first?

Both closed in favour of the already merged #54 #56 #64

Fyi, @ice9js has already integrated zoninator in calypso https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/tree/master/client/extensions/zoninator

Given the length of time, and the de-emphasis of the Customizer in WP core, this seems like an idea to skip now?
