Describe scenario
If option of 1.27 version is removed (although not removed by now), while I have an AKS with 1.26. And then I want to upgrade to 1.27 LTS.

However, --k8s-support-plan AKSLongTermSupport cannot be enabled unless the AKS is currently on 1.27, and this will make "upgrading to 1.27 LTS" not an option for 1.26 clusters if 1.27 is removed from the AKS supported version.

Question
Will it be possible for AKS lower than 1.27 upgrading to 1.27 LTS in the future?

can you try upgrade to 1.27 and enable LTS at same time, like az aks update -k 1.27 --k8s-support-plan AKSLongTermSupport --tier Premium

I tried this, it seems we don't allow other property change while doing upgrade, will try to propose a fix solution soon.

Thank you for continuously tracking. I don't have old version AKS at the time so cannot reply for a long time.
Looking forward to the fix.
