Alerts for Azure Landing Zone Has Moved!

Note: This Repo is no longer actively maintained, please visit AMBA Azure landing zone pattern for the latest version hosted in a new GitHub repo. We're in the process of moving Azure Monitor Baseline Alerts (AMBA) to a new home (repo) as part of a wider investment in AMBA across the entire Azure Monitor / Observability area where you will see in the future a broader set of alerts across a wider range of Azure services that you can access from one central location. As part of this move we need to freeze the code located here to allow us to work from the new location.

The biggest difference between both repositories is that the policy defintitions, initiatives and assignments have been converted to deployment template (JSON) to make integrating and sustaining the alerts more easily into solutions (ex: application landing zones or Azure Landing Zones) more easily by referencing the policies in AMBA directly. It also enables AMBA to be deployed more easily through solution accelerators via the Azure Portal, or via Bicep or Terraform.

Patterns/Scenarios will leverage the alert rules under Services to define a specific monitoring profile/plan. For example ALZ-Monitor is a pattern/scenario within the AMBA which simply means we've moved our documentation, updated references/links to point to the updated content in the AMBA site and reference the policies in JSON format.

Checkout the revised deployment steps have also been simplified a bit and most of the documentation remains the same with the exception being that Alert Details has changed and no longer lists all the alert but don't worry, there's a better way to see the alert details and save a copy of what the defaults are in AMBA.

Some considerations:

  • Please fork / star the new repo and work from there moving forward
  • You will no longer be able to submit issues here as we archive this repo
  • We plan to link existing open issues to a new issue in the new repo
  • We have updated and simplified how to deploy the AMBA for ALZ pattern and no longer use bicep. Updated guidance can be found here
