About The Pull Request

Removes neutral blobblernaut and wumborian fugu from being able to be spawned by the xenobiology gold slime core.

Why It's Good For The Game

Hostile mobs from the gold slime core are very strong and annoying already. Seeing a neutral blobbernaut fight a real blob is really stupid. This change doesn't remove the neutral blob from the game, so it can still be used in maps or be admin spawned.

For the wumborian fugu, the gland is just too strong. Giving any mob the ability to two hit r-walls on top of other buffs is too much in my opinion. Especially with how easy it is to aquire gold slimes.
"Then nerf the gland instead". I'd say no, the fugu can also spawn on space ruins. I feel like the reward for killing a fugu in space should be worth it. In that case, the fugu gland is fine. The same can't be said about gold slimes that can be rushed within the first 20 minutes of the shift.

Before people get mad, the gold slimes still spawn a ton of interesting and weird mobs. I don't think this change would impact this in any major way.

Testing Photographs and Procedure

Not sure what type of testing is necessary here, as I just changed two flags(?).

On one side, if i remember correctly the neutral Blobbernaut can't attack the Blob and viceversa so it's not like a cheesable way to kill a Blob, if anything they do have access to the blob network and might be able to pass information to the scientist about Blob movements, this comes from one time i became one andi was unable to do anything to the Blob so i was just working as a distraction

On other side i was sure that @PowerfulBacon tested the fugu-gland buffs on monsters on the turf integrity rebalance but i don't see it on the evidence, i'd say Bacon might be able to comment if it can stay but with the same amount a Hulk needs to destroy a r-wall(five)

I do agree that fugu glands on the current state are quite strong but they've been a reliable tool for the golden extract traitor specialists(or scientist that want to aid in crisis) as a buff to their minions.

Their wall smashing will be similar to everything else, the wall smash flag that allowed them to break r-walls became an AI hint only and ability to break walls is now determined by their obj damage instead. They should take a lot of hits to break an R-wall rather than just 1.

I think if the fugu gland is causing problems that it should be nerfed instead

I don't agree that it's okay being locked behind exploration - it's either okay being obtainable by crew or it isn't

I feel like the blobbernaut being able to tell the crew what the actual blob overmind is saying, is probably not ideal. While novel, it's probably not very fun for the blob himself.

Alrighty. I assume that the blobber change is fine-ish then? I'd say a fugu rebalance is probably out of the scope of this PR? (And potentially my coding abilities lol.) If yes then I'm just going to revert the fugu change for now. 馃憤

I don't feel especially strongly about blobber being an issue tbh.

Without fugu I don't think it's an issue - it might currently be the strongest available mob, but when you remove it there will be a new "strongest" and that will become the meta choice and be the one that the scientists go for instead.

I'm open to other opinions on this as an issue or not.

Yeah you're right. The only "issue" with the blobber that I see currently is the neutral blobbernaut/actual blob interaction. Which is pretty weird, but also not a big issue considering it happens very rarely.

Going to close this considering it really isn't a big issue nor something that really needs changing currently.
