Ability to exclude child dir ./foo/bar/ when syncing its parent dir ./foo/?

Would it be possible to implement the ability to exclude child dir ./src/common/bar/ when syncing its parent dir ./src/common/?

I am trying to sync an entire ./src/common/ directory while excluding any and all files within its child dir ./src/common/bar/.

my_repo_with_common_config_files/

│  ├─ common/
│  │  ├─ foo/
│  │  │  ├─ c.js
│  │  │  ├─ d.js
│  │  │
│  │  ├─ bar/
│  │  │  ├─ e.js
│  │  │  ├─ f.js
│  │  │  ├─ g.js
│  │  │  ├─ h.js
│  │  │  ├─ i.js
│  │  │  ├─ j.js
│  │  │
│  │  ├─ a.js
│  │  ├─ b.js

Currently, I am able to accomplish it with the following configuration:

group:
  - files:
      - source: ./src/common/
        dest: ./
        exclude: |
          ./bar/e.js
          ./bar/f.js
          ./bar/g.js
          ./bar/h.js
          ./bar/i.js
          ./bar/j.js

    repos: |
      User/sync_dst_01@default
      User/sync_dst_02@default

But listing all the files within a single directory feels a bit cumbersome.
Therefore, depending on the necessary amount of work, would it possible to implement the ability to just exclude the entire directory ./src/common/bar/ like that:

group:
  - files:
      - source: ./src/common/
        dest: ./
        exclude: |
          ./bar/

    repos: |
      User/sync_dst_01@default
      User/sync_dst_02@default
