Welcome to the SeattleMahjong wiki!

This repository holds the content of our club web site, http://seattlemahjong.com (and http://seattlemahjong.org). We use the hugo software to generate the web site and provide navigation between the various blog posts, guides, etc. The blog posts, guides, and other documents are written in Markdown, which is a mix of the text and special punctuation that indicates how the text should be formatted. This wiki is also formatted using Markdown. You can read about the details of Github's markdown at https://guides.github.com/features/mastering-markdown.

When you submit content for the web site, look for a blog post or guide that is similar to what you want to create, then create a new file for it in the repo. If you give the filename a .md or a .markdown extension, Github will treat it as a markdown file and when you click on preview, it will show you roughly how that content will look (although it will be formatted a little differently when it appears on the web site).

When the content has been reviewed and perhaps edited, then an administrator can copy the content of the Github repo to the web server and run hugo to make it appear on the web site.
