short-description: BlocJams for iOS is awesome!

---
This is an example of a post which includes a feature image specified in the front matter of the post. The feature image spans the full-width of the page, and is shown with the title on permalink pages.
### Summary:

Bloc jams was a web based application that allowed for easy streaming and
Ad free listening. It is an alternative to a other streaming websites that hosts ads in-between songs for advertising dollars

![](../img/example.jpg)

---

### Explanation:

For this project I was tasked with bringing the design to life with HTML, CSS & Javascript. I used the javascript Buzz library to allow for the songs to be heard when a user would hit the play button.

![](../img/example.jpg)

---

### Problem:

Problems faced when building Bloc Jams we mainly around introducing JS to input all the albums and it’s content without writing HTML for every album. We used DOM scripting to input new data for every album.

![](../img/example -2.jpg)

---

### Solution:

Bloc jams is a website that allows users to stream songs from their favorite albums
![](../img/example -3.jpg)

---

### Result:

The result of Bloc Jams was a successful website where users could upload songs and stream as they please. The site was fully responsive and was cross browser tested to work on every modern day browser.

title: The Biggest Challenge I've Faced When Learning to Develop
---
The biggest challenge I’ve faced while learning Bloc has been the learning new concepts part and making time to really take in each lesson from Bloc.
Bloc keeps it’s students a fast pace throughout the course I’m sure for good reason but keeping up with the pace means sometimes you don’t always get to understand a concepts as much as you’d like to before moving onto the next concept.

title: My experience with Bloc
---
My experience with Bloc this far has been full of personal ups and downs. I would like to say I’m learning a lot everyday and everyday I retain 99% of the information and I’m really happy with my progress thus far but truth is Bloc is hard.
Bloc takes up a lot of my off time and I’m not a good reader nor do I learn well by reading. I often find myself re reading how to do a JS task or googling around a concept that was introduced to me a week ago in hopes that I come across the perfect article that explains it in a way my brain understands.
I do have to say the ciriculum of Bloc is great and the pace they keep you out is though but great, it forces me to do bloc at least every other day and give up weekends to catch up to lost concepts and assignments. I knew coming into Bloc would be tough but boy have I been right about that.

I love what I’m learning it’s tough but it’s good and I would recommend Bloc to anyone who seriously want’s to learn front end development.

title: Why I decided I had to learn full stack development
---
I had been designing ever since I was 16. I was accidentally placed in Advanced Web Design II when I was 16 as a Jr. in at Murrieta Mesa High School.

I fell in love with the thought of being able to express my creativity though a career that I saw had a lot of up side in the business world. Coming from a mother who was a real estate coach and business owner I picked up the entrepreneur bug from her and saw that I could make money on the side fast by creating logos and marketing materials for all my mothers friends who were also in Real Estate.

Before I knew it was out form under of creating $10 logos for my moms real estate friends and landed my first full time gig at 18 from Digital Telepathy(One of if not the best design firm in San Diego). After months learning the ropes of what it was like working with other designs and project managers I decided to move onto my own gig and start my own design firm from all the leads I collected through dribbble.

After working for hundreds of startups helping the CEO of which ever company with their vision I just felt there was a ceiling with the design Industry.

Since the age of 16 when I first begin understanding there was a career with design I’ve always wanted to build out my ideas. I knew I would have to face the fear of learning something from scratch once again even though I know basic HTML and CSS and am ready for the journey
