A. Hardware

For the OS (operating system) side of things we actually don't need much hardware to run our application.

Let's talk minimum requirements, Pi-hole is very lightweight and does not require much processing power:

In my case I've installed Raspberry Pi OS on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, a bit overloaded I know, we could have done it for much less 😅.

I actually bought it from Optimus Digital when I was in Romania.

But this is not necessary, and given the huge semiconductor shortage we are facing any old laptop will due.

If you don't have one just go on Olx or Markplaats and buy the cheapest but functional one you can find.

Note: if you are not using a pi zero and the hardware has a network board, you don't need to do a headless install.
