For internal purposes, we want to log things like...

• Linda created the article "" [link]
• Natalie published the article "" [link]
• Kate added a photo to article "" [link]
• Matthew added a video to article "" [link]
• Luke deleted the article "" [undelete?]

The full log could be viewable on the Dashboard, and maybe a "Notifications"-like popover from the bonus bar. When editing, it could be interspersed with the status messages like "Article saved" to give you a unified idea of what's going on on the site.

This might make a good project for Matthew. Going through and adding the hooks to the log would be a good exercise in getting to know the app.
