While debuging, right-click on variables, select add to watchlist has no effect, only cursor jump to watchlist with an empty line.
nextgenas 6.0-SNAPSHOT, macOS 11.12.6, vscode 1.16

Correct, this feature has not been implemented. It may appear in a future version.
