Scanning
MARS provides functionality to interface with a barcode or QR code scanner. MARS also allows metadata to be exported in a CSV format to be imported into label-making software.
A scanner connectivity indicator is located at the top of each page, to the left of the "Quick Search" input. The indicator is grey when no scanner is paired or connected. Clicking the indicator will show a browser pop-up prompting to select the scanner to pair to MARS. Once selected and paired, and assuming the scanner is connected to the browser PC, the indicator will be green.
The exact methodology of creating a label will vary depending on the labelling software used. Entities have an "Export" button, allowing fields of metadata to be exported for an Entity.
