Dynamic Equations of Motion

BrianChevalier edited this page Nov 5, 2020 · 1 revision

The Equations of Motion (EOM) of a system are the equations used to compute the acceleration of a system. For non-linear dynamic systems that have to be iteratively computed, these come in the form of:

  • Initial acceleration: the acceleration of the system at the initial time
  • Residual: g(a) = 0 = F - ma
  • Tangent: the directional derivative of g(a)
