The Equations of Motion (EOM) of a system are the equations used to compute the acceleration of a system. For non-linear dynamic systems that have to be iteratively computed, these come in the form of:
- Initial acceleration: the acceleration of the system at the initial time
- Residual: g(a) = 0 = F - ma
- Tangent: the directional derivative of g(a)
