how about ....

the ability to manually ban an IP through the front end, together with a note on background reasons etc

an option for an automatic daily backup of the data files, together with a restore option, would be particularly useful for memcached, or for migrating a host

Done, and also backported to all major versions (implementing manual banning seemed easy enough to do for all major versions anyway, so why not). :-)

Haven't started this yet though.

And haven't fully investigated that yet. Will reply back later when there's some progress.

re backup - would have been useful today, memcached restarted

Work towards a backup mechanism has started. Nowhere near finished yet though, and still a lot of work needed.
