Florida's governor's spokesman said the state will discontinue daily reporting of cases and deaths.

If there's an announcement of a schedule for what data may be reported on what schedule, I'm not yet aware of it.

Thank you for the notification, this is much appreciated. We'll need to wait and see what the new approach will be before we can announce our method.

@stucka From that story, sounds like they'll report weekly?

The change is immediate: COVID-19 case and vaccine
reporting now will be available on a weekly basis at
floridahealthcovid19.gov every Friday.

In the JHU data I'm seeing exactly 3,000 cases reported Saturday, none Friday or Sunday, and no deaths Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

A colleague points out the weekly tallies no longer include non-residents, so the number of cases has dropped from earlier reports.

since june florida reports a weeks' total new cases on one day, in the friday data (by county).. the last two such reports were over 150,000 for the state, raising those days' crude new case counts to apparent new national records. this does not affect running 7-day average new cases except as the daily average contributes. I think some media reports have not made the distiction and have reported record new daily highs, though that is not correct.
