In today's update, the Minnesota Department of Health has published a media advisory indicating that case data now includes reinfections. The operational definition being used by the Department of Health is that provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) where in reinfections are when a person tests positive for COVID-19 more than 90 days after a previous positive test.
At the moment, this is a small percentage of total cases (7,597 of 797,984). We will continue to monitor and keep you all updated.
