Describe the bug
I have installed, and reinstalled cacti 1.2.12 now about 8 x in the last
week on a FreeBSD 11 Server that has a lot of free space.
The issue is after the install is competed, setup a couple of devices and
create graphs for the devices and then logout, Upon returning to login, no
error shown, just can't login. Even using incorrect credentials doesn't
display an error. I have checked all logs and there is nothing regarding
incorrect credentials. This time, I did not update the cacti DB with a
backup cacti.sql from previous which has all my devices and graphs.
So the only update to the cacti DB was upon install from
/usr/local/share/cacti/cacti.sql. So it means it has nothing to do with my
back mysqldumps
Thanks

//$cacti_cookie_domain = 'cacti.net'; |
Even if cact_cookie_domain = 'mydomain.tld' it doesn't change anything. Can't login, no error and no error if using invalid credentials. |
Did you just uncomment that out?
If so clear your cache and cookies

Yes I tried uncommenting, changing the domain to our domain. Still does the same thing cannot login. There is ~ 60GB free in /var When I reinstalled, just after completing the install, Logged out and then attempted to login with incorrect credentials, at that time it displays in red incorrect user/pass. Now, it doesn't display this regardless of correct or incorrect credentials. It just empties the credential boxes. |
Was this an upgrade from 1.2.11 to 1.2.12 or fresh ? I have not tested this on freebsd but I know on Linux I have installed 1.2.12 many times without issues 1,2.11 had an issue with the config.php file and the cookiedomains are you seeing any errors in your apache/http logs ? |
Reset your admin password via MySQL, see if you can get in then? |
Also, please describe the process of this install, as it sounds like you are using 1.2.12 sources but with an older database backup? |
Finally, check if you have a csrf_secret.php, if you do, try renaming it away. It isn't required so won't break anything whether it's there or not (at least shouldn't) |
Update include/global.php from the 1.2.x branch. |
My apologies, the updated global.php should be correct. |
I'm going to assume this is resolved since the user has not provided feedback in several days. |
