Type hinting?

Hey @CamDavidsonPilon, are you opposed to adding type hints to the code? I'm happy to fork the code and start hammering away at it, at least a first stab, unless there's a reason not to do it. It looks like you're targeting python 3.6+, so I think it shouldn't cause any issues
