Purge earliest journals after 100 files, not latest #1624

Previously, after 100 journal files were created, a purge of the _last_ 100 entries was performed (thereby making journals **seem** disabled). This changes reverses the list used to purge, thereby going through the earliest entries first. Fixes #1623
