CoD4X18_Client

A client side only modification and patch for the game Call of Duty 4!!! {CURRENTLY NOT MAINTAINED}

Well as cod4 development has been stopped by infinityward I thought to develop it further because of it's current popularity. So, I started to develop a modification and patch for both client and server version under GNU Affero General Public License. I am developing the version 1.8 as version 1.7 has lastly been developed by infinityward.


In this repository we are developing the CoD4X 1.8 Client Edition. At first we try to fix only annoying bugs and exploits. Later features getting added. This includes also features like modifying asset count restrictions. Also an automatic installation on the client system is planned in order to make them compatible with new server versions which aren't made yet.

|UPDATER|
#1 If you don't have the updater then download it from our website and place it on your cod4 installation directory.
#2 Run the updater and if the updater say a new update is available then use the update button to download the latest updates.
#3 After downloading the latest updates the updates will be automatically place on your cod4 directory's updates folder.
#4 Then navigate to the updates folder and install the latest update.
#5 It is done. Now Run your CoD4X with the command +exec client.cfg to see the changes!

|HOW TO INSTALL|
#1 Download the CoD4X 1.8 Patch.exe installer from www.ugiclan.com
#2 Open the installer and proceed with the installation process.
#3 Please manually select your cod4 installation directory during the setup and make sure the setup files goes directly to your cod4 directory.
#4 Backup your profiles folder before installation. [in case of any emergency]
#5 It is done. Now Run your CoD4X with the command +exec client.cfg to see the changes!

|HOW TO UNINSTALL|
#1 Go into your CoD4 installation directory.
#2 Delete mss32.dll and main/localized_english_iw07.iwd
#3 Rename the file "miles32.dll" into "mss32.dll"
#4 Restore your backed up profiles folder.
#5 It is done. Now Run your CoD4 to restore your previous 1.7 patch!
[The uninstalling process will partially uninstall the CoD4X 1.8 Client from your cod4 game]

|HOW TO SHOW EXTERNAL CONSOLE|
Start CoD4 with the following command-line: +sysconsole +exec client.cfg

Always try to add the commands stated in client.cfg to your profiles config file which will allow you to remove the execution of the client.cfg everytime while running cod4.
Please report new bugs. Report crashes (On which server and how it has happened)
Also report changed things which are quite obvious to a usual player. To report simply create an issue here on github or contact us in uG! Clan 24/7 BD TeamSpeak Server!!!
