exec format error: ./conky-x86_64.AppImage #49

I tried doing the quick start and it didn't install

./conky-x86_64.AppImage -C > ~/.conkyrc                                                                                                                      130 ↵
zsh: exec format error: ./conky-x86_64.AppImage

and with sudo

sudo ./conky-x86_64.AppImage -C > ~/.conkyrc                                                                                                                 126 ↵
Password:
./conky-x86_64.AppImage: ./conky-x86_64.AppImage: cannot execute binary file

It also has instructions on how to install conky properly.
