Q&A

Questions on Notice

Questions will be received by the community via Microsoft Teams chat before the questions are opened to the floor. Participants can submit questions outside of the CDR Implementation Call to the CDR Support Portal.

Answer provided

Ticket # Question Answer
1978 Data Holders on the CDR registry appear to only have ‘ACTIVE’ or ‘REMOVED’ statuses.
Are there any other valid statuses that can apply to a Data Holder?
If so, what are these statuses and do any of them apply as an interim status between ‘ACTIVE’ and ‘REMOVED’?
Can a Data Holder be re-instated as ‘ACTIVE’ after they become ‘REMOVED’?
If there are other interim statuses, can a Data Holder move from ‘ACTIVE’, to the interim status, then back to ‘ACTIVE’ again?
A data holder brand may have three possible statuses on the CDR register which are: ‘ACTIVE’, ‘INACTIVE’ and ‘REMOVED’. The ‘INACTIVE’ status can be used as an interim status where the data holder brand is not yet removed and is not actively transacting in the CDR ecosystem. However, it is not possible for a data holder legal entity to display an ‘INACTIVE’ status as they may only display the ‘ACTIVE’ or ‘REMOVED’ statuses on the CDR register.
Once a data holder legal entity or a data holder brand has displayed a ‘REMOVED’ status on the CDR registry, it cannot be reverted to ‘ACTIVE’ again as the ‘REMOVED’ status has been defined as an end state in the Consumer Data Standards. However, a data holder brand is able to transition between the ‘ACTIVE’ and ‘INACTIVE’ statuses on the CDR register.
1980 As you know we are helping one of our clients fulfil their CDR Data Holder requirements. At the same, our company actually specialises in financial crime prevention including identity and other types of fraud prevention. I was wondering please if you could refer me to the person in ACCC/CDR who may be interested in hearing from me about our solution to help prevent fraud in the CDR ecosystem? The prevention of fraud in the CDR ecosystem is a design issue. As such, we consider that it would be appropriate for Treasury to consider any stakeholder input in relation to the prevention of fraud in the CDR ecosystem. You can provide feedback or input to Treasury by emailing data@treasury.gov.au.
