FitCal

FitCal is a calorie tracking and fitness app that helps you achieve your health goals by tracking your daily food intake, and macronutrient ratios. With FitCal, you can easily log your meals and snacks, track your calorie intake, and monitor your progress towards your daily calorie goals.

Profile

  • FitCal allows you to set up a profile and customize your daily calorie goals based on your height, weight, age, and activity level. You can track your progress over time and make adjustments to your goals as needed.

Diary

  • It also provides a simple and intuitive user interface that makes it easy to log your meals and view your progress. You can quickly search and add foods to your daily log, and the app will automatically calculate the calorie count and macronutrient ratios based on the food you've logged.

  • You can easily create, edit or delete foods from the database.

Frontend

  • Node 16.13.2 (or higher)
  • npm 8.1.2 (or higher)

Backend

  • Java 14 (or higher)
  • Apache Maven (3.6.3 or higher)

🚀 Getting Started

To get started with FitCal, you'll need to set up both the frontend and backend components. Here's how:

  1. Clone or download the repository to your local machine.

Frontend

  1. Open your terminal and navigate to the root directory of the Angular project ('site').

  2. Install the dependencies:

npm install
  1. Run the Angular frontend using the following command:
ng serve
  1. Once the frontend is up and running, access the FitCal application by opening this link in your web browser: http://localhost:4200/

Backend

  1. Open your terminal and navigate to the root directory of the Java project ('api'):

  2. Run the Java (Spring) project using the following command:

mvn spring-boot:run
