For a while now, I have been having an issue where when suspend tries to trigger, it crashes. This only occurs with gtk-session-lock based lockscreens. Swaylock and Hyprlock work fine. So it safe to say it is gtk-session-lock that is the issue as it is the common denominator between the two lockscreens that are causing things to crash.

I would provide logs, but they provide little to no information. All they say is that the suspend service failed to freeze a process, but doesn't say why or what. I had to do trial and error to find it.

It is simple to reproduce:

  1. Set a gtk-session-lock based lockscreen (gtklock or AGS lockscreen) in idle service.
  2. initiate systemctl suspend

100% of the time I do this, the system crashes/freezes into an unusable state and requires hard shutdown to recover.

System Information:

OS: Arch Linux
Kernel: LTS 6.34
Hyprland: v0.41
Wayland: v1.23
gtk-session-lock-git: v0.2.0.r4.gb9ddb27-1
AGS: v1.8.2.r7.g646d5ad-1
