There are details here that remain unclear to me. Most notably, the license noted is not the license used and the SDG justification refers to a different product than what is submitted here. I think this needs a round of clarification by the Pixframe Studios team.
Also, in the case they do come back and tell us they mean GPL-3.0 and not LGPL-3.0… how would that work given the fact that Towi Plugin is integrated into Godot? Godot is permissively licensed (MIT), but the use of GPL-3.0 feels very out of place and in a legally ambiguous gray area since Pixframe's software integrates into Godot. I could be reading into this too much, but I also simply not have this concern if the license were LGPL-3.0.

It is GPL-3.0. I am not a lawyer, but I think the implication is that if someone build a Godot app using the Towi Plugin, they would have to license the whole project GPL-3.0. I don't think there is any issues with the plugin itself having this license. |
