After a few requests to change the functionality of the config path option to point to a file rather than a directory I finally managed to get round to it.
The existing functionality of searching a user specified directory will hang around until 1.0.0 upon which I'll just disable this entirely in favour of the new way of doing things.
This coincides with a 1.3.1 release of sass-lint itself which fixed issues people were having with config files in general.
