📑 5.2.0 - Connectivity and UX
This release fixes bugs, crashes and improves the user experience.
📱 Android
You can now open weblinks like https://bs.to directly in the app, that means if you google for "[your series] on burning series", it can be opened in the app. This also includes some fake-sites to prevent scam.
Steps to enable that feature:
- Navigate to your System Settings -> Apps -> Burning-Series
- Under Open as default: enable supported links and check all you want to use.
Keep in mind that this setting can differ depending on your manufacturer and Android Version.

- Fix multiple crashes and bugs
- Double click episodes to mark them as finished (#68)
- Click navigation tab (Home, Favorite, Search) again to go back if you opened a series in there. (#68)
- Added Watch button for next or pending episode or to switch to next season if you finished the season
- Support loading of content even if website can't be reached in your network.
- Display hint if still not possible to load data

It's been a long ride, but we've finally reached the end of the road. Don't be disappointed, it's not the end of the journey 😉

Television
❌ The Android TV is no longer fully supported, it may work but we don't maintain it.
✅ ChromeCast is now available! Share your videos directly to the TV instead.
Store
❌ The App won't be available on F-Droid anymore.
✅ This downside however has a lot of upsides, read more below...
🎨 Theming
It automatically applies colors depending on the series to create a more immersive experience.
Otherwise some other design stuff has changed a bit, however the user experience stays the same or has even improved!
🕒 Durability
Since it's no longer updated on F-Droid, it's possible to implement a lot more features.
The activated episodes will be stored across multiple databases, so even if one doesn't work, it falls back to other sources.
🍎 iOS Support?
Currently iOS is not supported.
However the project and it's dependencies got updated a lot, so it's theoretically possible to develop for iOS.
Maybe some community member wants to jump in, as I'm not an iOS developer, but most work is already done!
📜 4.7.0 - Error Logging and IMPORTANT Bug fix
This release adds error (and debug) logging and comes with IMPORTANT bug fixes.
🛑 BUG Fix
- Series not loading
- Unable to change season
- Unable to change language
If any of these bugs happend to you before and are still present:
- Go to the search overview
- Search for the series you wanna fix
- Open it from the search overview
- That may reset the season / language
- Your watch progress should remain
📜 Logging
This release features error and debug logging.
If the app crashes go to Settings and scroll down to the logging section.
Banner meanings:
- Red: Error, please provide it in your issue
- Yellow: Warning, something went wrong but nothing serious
- Blue: Information, looks like everything is okay
Depending on your issue I might request a specific logging option and the corresponding log.
