How to use - manually

This is what it looks like for a (test) user to install auto-erase-install to erase and reinstall a Mac


Download the latest installer pkg from the releases at https://github.com/Datamind-dot-no/auto-erase-install/releases


Double-click the downloaded installer


follow the Installer wizard steps, when done the Auto Erase Install window pops up proceed with the Continue button


You need to enter "I AGREE" in the Confirmation screen to continue




get more feedback for debugging if needed by running tail -f /var/log/auto-erase-install.log in a terminal window


curl progress while downloading macOS installer can be tracked by running tail -f /var/log/auto-erase-install-error.log


erase-install.sh uses osascript to ask for account name on Apple Silicon Macs


erase-install.sh uses osascript to ask for account password on Apple Silicon Macs


finally wait 10-15 more minutes while macOS installer prepares erase-install when all goes as expected, the Mac will suddenly reboot to start the macOS reinstall
