Current Status

  • HTML: Accurate and accessible
  • Content: Long and rambly
  • CSS: Ready to become a mess
  • JS: Who needs it
  • Infrastructure: Half baked (lol)
  • SEO: Prepped for virality
  • Tooling: Command line muscle memory

Updates

  • Finally got my CSS on. I think it looks good
    • Ridiculous header
    • Ridiculous footer
    • A big font...
  • Lots of webperf improvements
    • Inlined CSS to style above the fold content instantly
    • Async rest of CSS loading
    • Async font loading with minimal FOIT I hope
  • Lots of accessibility improvements
    • ARIA roles on page landmarks
    • Correct grouping of information into landmarks
    • More useful labels
  • Cover photos show up as big twitter cards
  • Acknowledgement of Country

A screenshot of this version of the blog, featuring a new enormous header. The name of the blog stretches the full width of the page in big capital letters, and the header takes up pretty much half the screen even though it's mostly just solid black. It looks absurd.

  • Infrastructure: Half baked (lol)
  • SEO: Prepped for virality
  • Tooling: Command line muscle memory

Updates

  • Did some whacky stuff to host my Git LFS files in an S3 bucket, then wrote a blog about it. So meta
  • Added a big dumb spinning picture to the front page header to show that I can have pictures now
  • Enabled passthrough for images into an img/ folder (hopefully one day they can live next to their content though)
  • Updated the docs!
  • Removed special characters from URL slugs
  • Fixed a character set problem that made em-dashes look weird

A screenshot of this version of the blog, featuring the new giant stupid picture of me rotating slowly. It looks a bit silly in this screenshot, kind of like I don't know how to place images properly
