Archives with full-width characters in filename experiencing delay while first searching/saving metadata #787

0.8.81 Windows 10

A peculiar issue that started from the 0.8.8 update is that archives that have full width characters in their names (e.g. Japanese, Chinese characters, and full width symbols such as ) will show some strange behaviors in LR.

The first thing is that when first adding such an archive to LR and then immediately entering a search for it, the archive will not display in search results unless the user deletes the full width characters in the search box.
For example:

Searching [ARCHIVE NAME |測試] will not show any results the first time, but after deleting the full width characters in the search query and only entering [ARCHIVE NAME], the corresponding archive will immediately show up.

After that the user can search this archive with the full width characters in the query and it will always appear correctly in the results; but it's always the first search when the file is added to the database where this issue happens.

Another issue is with the saving of the archive's metadata.
While clicking the "save metadata" button on an archive that has full width characters in its name, the metadata will infact NOT save, as one can see from the second screenshot below. (I clicked on "save metadata" at 10:34, yet the database.rdb file still only shows that it's last being modified at 10:19, which is when I started LR).

The metadata will only save when the user spams the "save metadata" button:

Both of these issues are never present when LR is processing files without full width characters in their filename.
