Confirmed the same on Fedora 24 Linux 4.9.4-100.fc24.x86_64

"xrandr --addmode DVI-I-1 1920x1080 " does the trick for me to get it displaying.

Devel branch is NOT guaranteed to stay compatible with DisplayLink driver for Ubuntu at all times - combined binary releases for Ubuntu Driver are currently done from master branch. At the moment, there is an API change on devel which makes it not compatible with latest released DisplayLink Manager. DisplayLink will have to refresh the driver for Ubuntu to make it compatible with all the newer changes in the module and library.

@displaylink-mlukaszek
Well, I agree with you that the devel branch could be unstable. However, in my case I was using the latest released version 1.3.43 (that you said is done from the master branch if I have not misunderstood). Probably the solution is still to wait for a new release of DisplayLink Manager though.

The latest release from master is v1.2.64 and it's the code included in the 1.2.65 driver release for DisplayLink Driver for Ubuntu. Any newer evdi release was done from devel branch.

You're right. Sorry, it was not immediate to see from the release page. I'll report it to the maintainer of the package for my distro. Thank you for the clarification.
