Most of the letter press type is in small trays. Karen Edwards said that these shouldn't be stacked on top of each other as the type could get damaged. @amcewen has some scrap 4mm MDF that should be suitable for making shelves for the type.
A few observations on sorting the letter press type on Hack the Space Day
It would be useful to have a couple of extra trays made up to sort the remaining letters out.
One of the boxes I sorted today had what I guess was is a ‘standard’ layout for the letters. This layout could be used to have a consistent system.
A slightly taller box would enable the largest fonts (already sorted) to remain on end without getting damaged. They seem to be a mix of fonts but not enough to warrant individual trays. Would this stop them getting damaged?
Some printing of the different fonts might help with sorting, even if it's with a stamp pad, This could then be stuck on the side of the box for reference.

There might be something suitable on https://www.festi.info/boxes.py/
