About Bad Golf: Community Edition

Bad Golf: Community Edition is a community developed realisation of Patrick Hackett's "Bad Golf" pitches from Double Fine's 2012 and 2014 Amnesia Fortnight events, aiming to capture and celebrate the reckless shenanigans that less professional golfers can get up to when they're left alone with a golf cart.

From Patrick's original Bad Golf pitch:

This is Phil Mickelson, he's a champion golfer. This is me, once I flipped a golf cart doin' doughnuts down a hill.

Phil plays golf. I play bad golf.

Bad Golf is just like golf. Four players try to get their ball in the hole in the least amount of strokes, but in Bad Golf, everyone gets a cart. Score extra points for finishing first, run over your buddies' balls, tear up fairways, destroy golf carts.

Bad Golf isn't fantasy like this [picture of a wizard]. Think of it like the PGA tour meets the demolition derby.

About The Project

Bad Golf: Community Edition uses an open contribution policy where community members from around the world are welcome and encouraged to contribute whatever they can and iterate on each others' work.

Development of Bad Golf: Community Edition is coordinated via GitHub issues, the #BadGolf2 IRC channel on irc.foonetic.net, and the Double Fine forums.

Initial direction for the project has been taken from design notes shared by Patrick with the community. Once a solid, playable prototype has been achieved, the community will branch out to address longer term ideas.
