Welcome to wxSkin!
-------------------
wxSkin is a simple set of addon controls that allow easy creation of skinned applications.

wxSkin is published under the wxWindows license <http://www.wxwidgets.org/licence3.txt>
with the addendum that you notify the author about projects using wxSkin (consider this "postcard-ware").

Using wxSkin
------------
First of all download and compile wxWidgets (www.wxwidgets.org). wxSkin was tested with version 2.6.3 and 2.7.2, but it should work with upcoming version as well.
wxSkin currently supports the MS Windows, Mac OSX and GTK2 ports of wxWidgets. No "PDA"-platforms are supported.

wxSkin can be compiled as a single static library. Building a DLL/so of it might be possible, but is not supported right now.

In order to compile wxSkin, you'll need CMake (http://www.cmake.org/).

Generating projects/makefiles
----------------------------
On Windows be sure to have the %WXWIN% environment variable set to your wxWidgets root directory.
Then simply run CMake and select the following things in the GUI
	--> Where is the source: {browse to this dir}
        --> Where to build binaries: {browse to a temp dir for building}
        --> Generate the files, when prompted for the project generator, choose the IDE you want to use
	
On Linux and Mac proceed like this.
	--> optionally set WXWIN to the wxWidget root dir (export WXWIN=path).
	--> unzip wxSkin to some directory
	--> create a directory where you will build wxSkin (mkdir {some_dir})
	--> enter this directory (cd {some_dir})
	--> run ccmake (ccmake {path_to_wxSkin_dir})
	--> adjust the settings in the ncurses GUI that will show up
	--> if wxWidgets can not be found, manually point the entry WXWIDGETS_ROOT_DIR to the wxWidgets install directory.
	
	--> hit 'c' to configure the build
	--> hit 'g' when it becomes available  to generate the makefiles
	
	--> after hitting 'g' ccmake will exit
	--> simple type 'make' and the build process should begin
	
	Ubuntu 11.04
	------
	We suppose that you install you wxWidgets from software center
	1. Make a symbol link of /usr/lib/wx/config/gtk2-unicode-release-2.8, put it in /usr/lib/wx. Name it wx-config.in.
	2. Set WXWIN to /usr/lib/wx, you can execute the command in terminal "export WXWIN=/usr/lib/wx/"
	3. cmake and make
	
The build process will setup three things:
- the wxSkin library
- a simple example
- a second, more complex example

To build your own projects using wxSkin, simply link with the wxSkin library created in the build process.
Another option would be to simply include all wxSkin source files when building your project.
