Reproducible Computational Environments Using Containers: Introduction to Docker and Singularity

This repository contains materials for the Reproducible Computational Environments Using Containers course being run by Research Software London and EPCC, supported by PRACE and ARCHER2.

The course is being run online on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th December 2020. Places are now fully booked.

The material in this repository is based on the Carpentries workshop template and is a combination of two lessons from the Carpentries incubator, one covering Docker and the other covering Singularity. See the individual README's for each lesson for information on contributing, maintainers, authors and how to cite the material:

This repository generates the corresponding lesson website from The Carpentries repertoire of lessons. See the rendered lesson website.

Contributing

We welcome all contributions to improve the lesson material! Maintainers will do their best to help you if you have any questions, concerns, or experience any difficulties along the way.

We'd like to ask you to familiarize yourself with the Carpentries Contribution Guide and have a look at the more detailed guidelines on proper formatting, ways to render the lesson locally, and even how to write new episodes.

Please see the current list of issues for the Docker and Singularity lessons for ideas for contributing to this repository. For making your contribution, we use the GitHub flow, which is nicely explained in the chapter Contributing to a Project in Pro Git by Scott Chacon. Look for the tag good_first_issue. This indicates that the mantainers will welcome a pull request fixing this issue.

You are encouraged to submit any contributions to this lesson material to the base lesson repositories within the Carpentries Incubator rather than to this repository:
